Design & Build Quality
There are two colors of the Motorola Edge 40, Nebula Green and Blue.
When you pick up the green color phone, you will feel like it’s one of the lightest phones you have handled. It has a vegan leather finish and it is thin. It is 7.58 mm thin.
There is another variant of blue color which is not vegan leather, it comes with a PMMA bag. This is 7.49 mm thin. There is a slightly different in weight between the two colored phones. The vegan leather variant(green color) weighs 173.4g and the blue color phone weighs 169.9g. This is interesting, you should go to an offline retail store and try it out.
The Motorola phone is a pretty smart design. At the back is plastic, so you don’t get any heat dissipating out of there but the overall phone is really rigid you have got an Aluminium metal frame so there is no bandage.If there put a lot of force,it does not want to bend, there will be no squeaking.
Display
It’s a curved 6.55-inch FHD POLED display.POLED display is mainly plastic OLED display. This display is more flexible than the AMOLED display. Because of the POLED display, this phone can become thinner. It’s a 144Hz fast refresh rate. It has 1200nits brightness and 2400 by 1080 resolution which is good. The bezels are curved which makes them nearly non-existent. Even the bezel at the top and bottom is absolutely thin.
The screen-to-body ratio is 92.7% which is nearly all displays. The display is also Netflix-approved, so if you are watching content which on Netflix shot, the color automatically adjusts the display and you will get the movie or show in the exact colors that they made on the display which is really good.
Camera
There is a functional camera with two cameras. It has a 50 MP primary sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide sensor which works for macro and depth. You can take macro photos and videos. It has a 32 MP selfie sensor.
The skin tones are absolute to the point. It has a perfect skin tone. The primary sensor has the widest aperture. It’s f1.47, so it lets in more light and yes, it has OIS for stability. There is one outstanding feature that is not visible. It’s horizon-locking. So when you are shooting videos, the horizon will be horizontal and it will be stable. This feature is in the GoPro or adventure cameras. Because there is a lot of movements, this feature is present in it.
There is another outstanding feature, Portrait Video Mode. You will be noticed 2-3 things, when the subject is close, the natural bokeh you get due to the wide aperture is fantastic. Not only the primary sensor supports 4k, but even the ultra-wide secondary sensor also supports 4K 30FPS. You can shoot 4K30FPS in selfies. So, Motorola is trying to improve its camera setup & Motorola Edge 40 is definitely a prime example.
There is a normal microphone with a noise-cancelling microphone & an ear microphone. It’s Audio Zoom. So basically if you zoom in on a subject,it will amplify the sound.
Performance
It is the first phone to come with dimensity 8020.Its AnTuTu score is very good which is much better than 778. In fact, the AnTuTu score is 6.5L which is mindblowing in this price range. It’s on 6Nm fabrication,so it’s quite power efficient. It has LPDDR4X RAM type & UFS 3.1 storage type.
In terms of Gaming performance, It’s on very high to max settings and you will play very smoothly. Multi-tasking will be smooth and you should not have any problems. You can use various high apps too.
It has a Hyper Crystal Graphite Cooling System which keeps the thermals in check and you don’t feel it as Vegan Leather. The thermals are also very good. After using this phone you will definitely say that the fluidity and feel of the phone is very good. It’s a well-optimized UI experience.

Ports & Buttons
If I talk about ports and buttons, you will get a SIM card tray at the bottom. There is a USB Type C, Speaker Grill, a microphone, and on the right-hand side you will get a power on-off button and a volume rocker on the top. But remember, It’s not a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, It’s an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the top, you get a noise-canceling microphone and Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers and on the left-hand side, there is nothing. If I talk about the SIM Card tray, it’s kinda interesting. It’s a single Nano SIM Slot but you get a segment first eSIM.So, it’s dual SIM support but one is eSIM and the other is a physical SIM card slot. So you can use one eSIM and another Physical SIM Card. Even with the case, it looks nice and it doesn’t have much left. It’s light because It’s not a TPU case, It feels thin in hand.
Software
The phone runs on Android 13 & It has MOTOROLA’s My UX 13. They have promised 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security updates. It doesn’t have any bloatware but it has all Google apps & Google Sheets. It has all the connectivity options like 5G,14 bands, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.

Features
The phone has a lot of features like ready for which means you can watch your screen on a big screen. It is very seamless and it is also auto-secure. When you connect to public WiFi, you get a red or green dot to know if the WiFi is secure or not. It has thin sheet security with private folders. So it’s a secure phone as well.

The phone has a POLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate, colors are great. It has a bright display, so you can watch videos outside. So you will get a mindblowing video-viewing experience.
